Clinical confidence

Online delivery. Individualized care.

Your child’s strengths, needs, and your family’s priorities shape their care. We develop a personalized plan with clear goals, then guide you and your child through working on those skills at home.

  • A plan built around your child. Assessment helps us understand their strengths, where they need support, and where to begin.
  • Goals connected to everyday life. From communicating needs to managing routines, we focus on skills that matter to your family.
  • Live support throughout sessions. Your therapist guides activities, answers questions, and helps you put strategies into practice.
  • Care that develops with your child. We review progress and adjust the plan as their skills and needs change.

Virtual ABA in action

What happens on the other side of the screen?

Virtual ABA can include direct work with your child, coaching for you, and practice within everyday routines. The balance is tailored to your child’s needs and your family’s goals.

Support with the routines that feel difficult

Your therapist coaches you through strategies for challenges such as toothbrushing, toileting routines, transitions, or responding to frustration and aggression. You’ll learn how to apply your child’s plan, with explanations and feedback as you practice.

Skills that carry into everyday life

Together, we identify opportunities to practise between sessions—asking for something at mealtimes, following steps when getting ready, or using a calming strategy during a difficult moment. You can share what’s working and where you need more help.

GOALS THAT MATTER AT HOME

Communication. Confidence. Everyday independence.

Whether your child needs help expressing themselves, handling frustration, or managing daily tasks, we start with what matters most to your family. Together, we set clear goals and work towards skills your child can use every day.

  • Communicating needsAsking for help, making choices, and expressing wants and feelings.
  • Managing emotions and frustrationRecognizing feelings, asking for a break, and practising safer ways to respond when things feel difficult.
  • Navigating daily routinesWorking through transitions and the steps involved in getting dressed, brushing teeth, or using the toilet.
  • Building independence and social skillsDoing more everyday tasks with less help and practising skills such as taking turns and having conversations.

Your child’s plan focuses on the skills they need now, with goals that develop as they progress.

VIRTUAL ABA ACROSS ONTARIO

When the right support isn’t nearby.

Wherever you live in Ontario, you can connect with Aspire’s virtual team from home. You don’t need to live near one of our in-home service areas to explore care for your child.

Virtual support can be especially helpful when you:

  • Live in a rural, remote, or Northern Ontario community.
  • Cannot find a local clinic or in-home provider that meets your child’s needs.
  • Face long drives to attend appointments.
  • Have received OAP funding but are still looking for support.

A funding reassurance

OAP funding can support your next step.

Aspire is an OAP-approved provider, and eligible OAP funding can be used toward virtual ABA services. Our team can help you understand how this applies to your child’s recommended care.

RBA-LED CARE

Clinical expertise behind every plan.

Your Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) develops your child’s behaviour plan and provides ongoing clinical supervision. Your Instructor Therapist puts that plan into practice during sessions, helping your child work on their goals and guiding you through strategies you can use at home.

Your therapist and RBA work together to review progress and adjust the approach. You’ll know who is supporting your family, what you’re working towards, and who to ask when questions come up.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Questions about virtual ABA?

Here’s what to expect, from setting up at home to taking part in your child’s sessions.

How does virtual ABA work?

You meet with your Instructor Therapist over a live video call from home. They guide activities based on your child’s behaviour plan, work with your child, and coach you through strategies you can use together. Your RBA provides clinical supervision and reviews how the plan is progressing.

What do we need to participate in sessions?

You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a comfortable space where you and your child can take part. Your therapist will let you know what materials to have nearby. You don’t need a dedicated therapy room or a perfect home setup.

Will I be involved in my child’s sessions?

Yes. A parent or caregiver takes an active role, especially when a child needs help participating. You might help with an activity, practise a strategy, or share what you’re noticing at home. Your therapist explains what to do and supports you throughout.

Do I need to know anything about ABA before we start?

No. You bring your knowledge of your child, and we bring the clinical guidance. Your therapist explains the strategies, demonstrates them, and gives you time to practise and ask questions. You’re not expected to create the plan or figure it out alone.

What if my child finds it hard to sit still or engage with a screen?

Your child doesn’t have to sit at a screen for the whole session. Activities can include movement and everyday tasks, with you helping while the therapist guides you. During your consultation, we’ll discuss how your child participates and what support they need to see whether virtual sessions are a good fit.

What can virtual ABA help my child work on?

Goals can include communication, social skills, emotional regulation, daily routines, hygiene, toileting, and greater independence. We can also work on understanding behaviours such as aggression and teaching safer ways for your child to communicate and respond. Your RBA helps identify the goals and approach that fit your child.

Does it matter where we live?

We support families anywhere in Ontario through virtual ABA. Whether you live in a city, a small town, or a remote Northern community, you can connect with our team from home. You don’t need to be within one of our in-home service areas.

Can I use my OAP funding?

Yes. You can use your OAP core clinical services funding for eligible virtual ABA services with Aspire. ABA is one of the core clinical services covered by the Ontario Autism Program. Our team can walk you through the fees and how to use your funding for your child’s care.

Who creates my child’s plan, and who leads the sessions?

Your Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) develops the behaviour plan and provides clinical supervision. Your Instructor Therapist leads sessions and helps put the plan into practice with your child and family. They work together to review progress and make adjustments.

How will I know how my child is progressing?

We set clear goals and track how your child is doing during sessions. Your observations at home matter too. We’ll talk with you about what’s improving, what still needs support, and whether the plan needs to change.

How do we get started?

Start with a free consultation. We’ll learn about your child, hear what you’re looking for, and explain how virtual sessions could work for your family. We’ll also talk through scheduling, costs, and your next steps.

You do not have to figure it out alone.

Let’s talk about what your child needs.

Tell us what’s going well, what feels difficult, and what you’d like help with. We’ll listen, answer your questions, and explain how virtual ABA could fit into your family’s life.
